From Charlotte, NC, Thompson played H.S. FB for Vance where he was rated a 3⭐️ recruit. Thompson signed with Syracuse in 2019, where he played 4 seasons prior to entering the transfer portal.
At Syracuse:
Thompson became an instant key contributor to the Orange’s defense when he arrived on Campus. During his first 2 seasons, Thompson appeared in 22 games (19 starts), recording 114 tackles, 15.5 TFLs, 9 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. After missing the 2022 season due to injury, Thompson appeared in all 13 games (1 start) in 2023, compiling 52 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.
